Mt. Fuji and Cherry Blossoms in Harmony: Breathtaking Views at Fuji Cemetery
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
The Yoshino cherry blossoms have reached full bloom at Fuji Cemetery (Omigami, Oyama Town), a site officially recognized as one of the “100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan.” Visitors are currently flocking to the grounds to witness the stunning scenery created by the harmony of Mt. Fuji and the blooming trees.
The vast 2.13-million-square-meter grounds are home to approximately 1,000 Yoshino cherry trees. Along the 800-meter-long “Sakura Central Avenue” stretching from the rotary, about 200 trees line the path, creating a floral canopy that delights strollers. According to cemetery officials, the blossoms began opening on March 30 this year and are expected to remain at their peak until April 10.
In celebration of the cemetery’s 60th anniversary, a special light-up event for the cherry blossom avenue is scheduled for April 9 and 10, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
